So a week ago I took the long awaited mod and got some Coilovers from MCA Suspension, special thanks for Josh Coote for his help with this. Josh ended up recommended the X series coilovers and I settled on X-C (Comfort). They’re his second tier of Coilovers between their Blue Series and Red series and sit nicely inbetween the two in terms of performance and cost.
Now that they’re installed obviously my overall daily driving comfort level suffers as the coilovers are obviously stiffer than stock and my car is now a fair bit lower. Ground clearance does appear to be an issue but sometimes you gotta suffer to have an awesome looking car.
Because I don’t drive my car on the track it’s hard for me to say what kind of performance benefit I’m getting from the coilovers however it does feel much more responsive around corners and I think the combo of my semi slick tires and these coilovers have turned my Z into a cornering machine.
- Coilovers: $1950
- Installation: $250
- Total: $2200
